How do I book a chef for my house party?
Fill our quick online booking form — enter your city, event date, serving time, guest count, food preference and menu choices. It takes under 5 minutes. Once you pay the ₹1,999 booking confirmation fee via UPI, our team assigns a verified chef and connects you within 15 minutes.
How quickly can I get a chef confirmed?
Most bookings are confirmed within 15 minutes of payment. We also accept same-day bookings where chefs are available in your area. Fill the form and our ops team gets to work immediately.
Can I book a chef for the same day?
Yes — same-day bookings are accepted subject to chef availability in your city. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance to ensure the best chef match for your requirements. For same-day needs, call us directly on 9650367973.
Do I need to create an account to book?
No account is required to make a booking. You simply fill the form, pay the booking fee, and we handle the rest. Creating an account lets you track your booking history and manage future bookings easily.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 days in advance for weekday events and 5–7 days in advance for weekend parties, especially during festive seasons (Diwali, New Year, wedding season). Advance booking ensures you get the best chef match and avoids disappointment.
Can I reschedule my booking?

How much does it cost to hire a chef for a house party?
Our base charge is ₹4,500 for up to 15 guests and up to 10 dishes. Every additional guest beyond 15 costs ₹100/person, and every extra dish beyond 10 costs ₹200/dish. The ₹1,999 booking confirmation fee is paid now via UPI; the remaining balance is paid directly to the chef at your home on the party day.
What is the ₹1,999 booking fee — is it extra or part of the total?
The ₹1,999 is part of your total cost, not an extra charge. You pay it upfront via UPI to confirm your booking. The remaining amount (your total minus ₹1,999) is paid directly to the chef at your home on the party day — in cash or UPI.
How do I pay the booking fee?
The ₹1,999 booking confirmation fee is paid via UPI. Once payment is received, our team confirms your booking and begins chef assignment immediately.
How do I pay the chef on the event day?
You pay the remaining chef fee directly to the chef at your home before they leave — cash or UPI both accepted. The chef will confirm the balance amount when you connect with them before the event.
Are there any hidden charges?
No hidden charges. The price you see in the booking form is the total — base fee + extras for additional guests or dishes. The only possible extra is ₹499/hr if you require the chef to stay beyond 10:30 PM.
What is the extra charge for overtime?
Standard service is available till 10:30 PM. If you need your chef to stay beyond 10:30 PM, an additional charge of ₹499 per hour applies. This is agreed directly with the chef and paid to them on the day.

About the Chef

What does the chef do at my home?
Your chef arrives 3 hours before the agreed serving time, sets up their station, preps all ingredients, and cooks every dish fresh in your kitchen. Once cooking is done, they set up the serving table with all dishes in serving bowls so your guests can help themselves buffet-style. The chef leaves by 10:30 PM (or later at ₹499/hr extra).
Does the chef serve food to guests individually?
No — the chef sets up a serving table with all dishes laid out in serving bowls and dishes. Your guests serve themselves. The chef does not do individual plating or table-side service.
Does the chef wash dishes and utensils?
No. Utensil washing is not part of the chef's scope. The chef focuses on cooking and table setup. You will need to arrange dishwashing separately.
When does the chef arrive?
Your chef arrives 3 hours before your agreed serving time. For example, if your serving time is 8 PM, the chef arrives at 5 PM to begin prep and cooking.
Are the chefs verified and trained?
Yes. Every chef on ChefDarbari goes through background verification, a cooking trial assessment, and a hygiene check before being listed on our platform. Only the top 20% of applicants make it through.
Can I request a specific chef?
At this time, chef selection is done by our ops team based on your requirements, location and availability. We match you with the best available verified chef. If you have a preference based on cuisine speciality, mention it in the requirements field and we will do our best to accommodate.
What if the chef cancels last minute?
In the rare event of a last-minute chef cancellation, our team arranges a replacement chef immediately or provides a full refund of your booking fee. Your party will not be left without a chef — we guarantee it.

What cuisines can the chefs prepare?
Our chefs cover a wide range — North Indian, Punjabi, South Indian, Mughlai, Chinese, Continental, Italian, Thai, Rajasthani, Bengali, BBQ & Grills, and more. You can specify your cuisine preferences in the booking form and your chef will plan the menu accordingly.
Can I customise the menu?
Absolutely. Once you are connected with your chef after booking, you discuss and finalise the exact dish names, portions and any special requirements together. The chef tailors the menu to your preferences.
Can the chef cook for dietary restrictions — diabetic, Jain, gluten-free, keto?
Yes. Mention your dietary requirements in the booking form or when you speak with your chef. Our chefs are experienced in cooking for special dietary needs including diabetic-friendly, Jain, gluten-free, keto, and high-protein menus.
Who provides the ingredients and groceries?
You provide the ingredients. After booking, your assigned chef shares a complete ingredient shopping list. You can shop in advance or on the day of the event. The chef focuses entirely on cooking — not sourcing ingredients.
Can the chef cook both veg and non-veg at the same event?
Yes. Simply select "Both Veg & Non-Veg" in the booking form. Your chef will manage both separately using different utensils and cooking stations if required.
How many dishes can I order?
The base price includes up to 10 dishes across all categories — starters, main course, sides, soups, desserts and beverages. Every dish beyond 10 costs an additional ₹200/dish. There is no hard upper limit on dish count, but we recommend discussing the menu with your chef to ensure quality.

Logistics & Setup

Do I need a professional kitchen?
No. A standard Indian home kitchen with a working stove or oven is perfectly sufficient. Your chef brings all necessary cooking equipment and adapts to your kitchen layout. No special setup is required from your side.
Who provides crockery, cutlery and serving platters?
You are responsible for crockery, cutlery and serving platters. The chef brings cooking equipment and uses your kitchen tools. If you need rental crockery for large parties, we can suggest vendors on request.
Which cities do you serve?
We currently operate in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad. If your area is not listed in the booking form, call us on 9650367973 and we will check availability.
What is the minimum guest count?
Our base package covers up to 15 guests. There is no hard minimum — you can book for a smaller gathering and the base price of ₹4,500 still applies for up to 15 guests.
Is there a maximum guest count?
There is no hard maximum. Every guest beyond 15 costs ₹100 extra. For very large gatherings of 50+ guests, we recommend calling us first at 9650367973 so we can discuss staffing and logistics appropriately.
What time does the chef leave?
The chef's standard service ends at 10:30 PM. Extended service is available at ₹499/hr after 10:30 PM, agreed directly with your chef.

Cancellation & Refunds

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your event are eligible for a full refund of the ₹1,999 booking fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable. To cancel, email info@chefdarbari.com or call 9650367973.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method. Contact us at info@chefdarbari.com with your booking ID and our team will initiate the refund.
What if I am not satisfied with the chef's service?
Your satisfaction is our priority. If the chef does not meet the agreed standards, contact us immediately during or after the event. We will investigate and offer a resolution — which may include a partial refund or a complimentary re-booking, depending on the situation.
Can I get a refund if the chef does not show up?
If a chef is unable to show up and we cannot arrange a replacement in time, you will receive a full refund of the ₹1,999 booking fee. In practice, we always have a backup chef on standby and have never left an event unattended.
